Greetings everyone! I want to share some good news about Genevieve, our Farm Coordinator. She has been accepted to the University of New Hampshire, where she plans to study ecology, starting in the spring semester 2025.
This young woman has blossomed from a quiet, observant Farm Skills Training Program participant in 2022, to the smiling, strong leader we all admire today. So many volunteers have remarked on this positive change and growth and love working alongside her. We are sad to see her go but also excited about her future plans. Please join me in wishing Genevieve continued success at UNH and beyond. She will still be at the farm this fall, but in a more limited capacity as her local classes resume in September.
In addition to Genevieve’s transition, I want to share some personal news. This will be my final season as Farm Director at G2G. It is a joyful departure, as my life is shifting and I want to embrace it. We have a new baby coming into our family in just two weeks! Those of you who know the joy of being a grandparent will understand my desire to be available and present. Baby photos will be available on request!
The other exciting shift is my artwork coming full circle. I have an Art Education degree and I have never had the chance to make it a priority in my life. Expressing my creativity through paint, paper, and clay is calling to me and I want to answer this call. I feel like the G2G gardens these past eight years have been my palette and my canvas. Thanks to all of you who helped me create this vision, a thing of beauty which we all get to enjoy.
We will find a passionate, committed, and skilled person to take G2G’s farm program into the future. Our mission continues to guide us, we’ll just have new energy and ideas to propel us forward!
I too will be working through the fall and into early 2025 as I help transition our next Farm Director. I will always be part of this vibrant community that is so dear to me. Thank you all.
Always grateful,
Theda
